How do you convert 350.0 mL at 740.0 mm of Hg to its new volume at standard pressure?

Unlike gases, liquids don't compress appreciably, so the volume will be the same.

We use Boyle's law: #P_1V_1=P_2V_2#, temperature and amount of gas constant. We would expect the volume to decrease slightly.

Explanation:

Given the relationship, #V_2=(P_2V_1)/P_1#, we can use non-standard units of pressure and volume, such as #mL#, and #mm# #Hg#. Ordinarily, we would have to convert these units into standard forms.

#V_2 = (740/760)xx350*mL# #=# #??# #mL#
