Insolation is the amount of solar radiation which strikes a particular area of Earth.
It is affected by:
- Reflectivity of the Atmosphere and Ground
- Angle of the Sun's rays
- Duration of Sunshine
Higher latitudes recieve more slanting rays and more diffuse energy.
At lower latitiudes the Sun's rays are more concentrated.
