I taught for 37 years in the secondary sector, that is pupils aged between 12 and 18. My degree is in Politics and International Relations. My main subject in teaching was Modern Studies but I also developed and Taught Politics and Sociology. All 37 years were in the classroom and 34 of them were promoted posts. I have widespread experience of exam setting, marking and was the Chief Development Officer in Sociology when it was first introduced into the Scottish education system.
