Why can't we simply type questions in the Android app, and why can't we answer other questions like on the website?

Because that's not how the app works.

Explanation:

For starters, it's important to keep in mind that the app is not designed to be a mobile version of the website. In fact, the two are designed to complement each other.

The purpose of the app is to help students find useful information, not to allow them to create content--that's what the website is for.

Now, the app doesn't allow you to type questions because it's designed to be an effective tool for smartphone users, which is why it only works if users take a photograph of the question using the phone's camera.

Taking a picture of the question takes less time than actually typing out the question. Moreover, the app's AI converts the images into data that it can use to pull up the content that the student can use to answer the question.

So using pictures of the questions pretty much eliminates potential typos that can throw off the AI.

So remember, the app is just a tool that students can use to find answers to their questions.
