Why are some questions "0 people asked". Are they even worth answering?

Here's what's going on.

Explanation:

The questions that you see on Socratic fall into two categories

  1. Questions posted on the website by students with accounts
  2. Questions posted on the app by students without accounts

The questions that you're referring to have been posted on the app and redistributed on the website by the Socratic team.

In other words, the team collects the questions posted on the app and releases them on the website for contributors to answer.

Now, are these questions worth your time? I would say that they definitely are!

In a nutshell, our long-term goal here is to provide quality content for current and future students. Every answer posted on Socratic will eventually help someone in the future, which is why I would say that every answer counts.

This is why we do not delete questions that go unanswered for long periods of time. Even if we don't manage to help every student now, the content that our community creates will help millions of students in the future.
