The MOST important is to use verbal, face-to-face communication.

Explanation:

Communication strategies can be verbal, nonverbal, or visual. Integrating all the strategies together will allow you to see the most success.

There may be as many interpretations of this as there are business consultants! Whose definition(s) of "communication strategies" do you want to use?

Verbal is a MUST! You might have some supporting documents, but if you need to bring them out, they may not have been the significant contributions that you think they are. NEVER ask for one in writing - at least certainly not before discussing it with your boss.

With experience as both an employee and a "boss" I can tell you that the FIRST thing you will have to do is to be able to demonstrate WHY your contributions deserve more monetary compensation. How have you (and will you) provided benefits to the company far beyond the current compensation package?

Remember, it is NOT a "zero sum" game! The company doesn't want to "break even" on hiring you - it wants to make additional PROFIT from the work you produce.
