When was the first Thanksgiving celebration? What really happened, contrary to popular belief?
1 Answer
Nov 30, 2016
Most likely, October 1621.
Explanation:
The year is not in doubt but the month is as records of the event are sparse.
The meal itself is a mystery although it was likely full of lots of fish, lobster and venison along with corn and root vegetables.
The only popular belief I can think of is turkey. We do not know if there was one at the feast but it certainly was not the center of the feast if there was one.
