Explanation:

When a reaction occurs in a calorimeter, if the thermometer records an increase in temperature, this means that the reaction is giving heat to the outside. This type of reactions is called Exothermic reaction.

In general acid-base reactions are known to be exothermic reactions.

If the opposite happens, the reaction is called Endothermic reaction.
