The Battle of Gettysburg was the turning point of the Civil War. It was the South's last chance to win the Civil War.
Explanation:
After Gettysburg the south no longer had the resources or strength to invade or carry the war to the north. The South would win other battles but the only hope for the south was for the north to get tired of the war and quit.
If the south had won the battle of Gettysburg the north might have been forced to sue for peace. If the Union army had been destroyed at Gettysburg the south would have been able to threaten Washington DC. The north could have lost the war in those three days of the battle of Gettysburg.
After Gettysburg the south would be on the defensive and would never again threaten the North militarily.
