Explanation:
Civil Didsobedience consists in a peaceful to the state or to an oppressive power. It was both by Gandhi and by Martin Luther King. It emphasized the idea that tyranny was based on people accepting their opporession, if the latter withdraw their consent, it can be toppled.
It was succesful because it led to the discredit of political power and made struggles legitimate in people's eyes.
