The distance between points (x_1,y_1,z_1) and (x_2,y_2,z_2) is given by r=sqrt((x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2+(z_2-z_1)^2)
=sqrt((-2-8)^2+(-1-(-4))^2+(6-3)^2)=sqrt(100+9+9)=sqrt118~~10.9. Then v=d/t=10.9/4=2.7 ms^-1.
