As one has 1000 grams in each kilogram, 4.38 kilogram is 4.38×1000=4380 grams.

And hence, the ratio is

480/4380=48/438 - here we have divided numerator and denominator each by 10.

As both are evrn, we can still divide them by 2 and

48/438=24/219

It is observed that as sum of digits of numerator and denominator is divisible by 3, both are divisible by 3.

Hence, 24/219=8/73.

As we cannot divide them further, the ratio of 480 g to 4.38 kg. is 8/73.
