f(x) = (x+1)/(2x+1) = (2(x+1))/(2(2x+1))

=((2x+1)+1)/(2(2x+1))

=1/2+1/(4x+2)

Subtract 1/2 from both sides to get:

1/(4x+2) = f(x)-1/2

Take the reciprocal of both sides to get:

4x+2 = 1/(f(x)-1/2)

Subtract 2 from both sides to get:

4x = 1/(f(x)-1/2) - 2

Divide both sides by 4 to get:

x=1/(4(f(x)-1/2)) - 2

=1/(4f(x)-2) - 2

So

f^-1(y) = 1/(4y-2) - 2
