What is the domain and range for y = x^2 + 86?

Domain (-oo,+oo) Range [86, +oo)

The domain of this function are all real values of x that is (-oo,+oo)

If it is solved for x, x= +-sqrt(y-86)

Y can not have any value less than 86, because that would make x not a real number. Hence y would have all real values >=86.

The Range is thus [86, +oo)
