The obliquity describes the angle of tilt of the Earth's axis of rotation.

Explanation:

It is the angle between the plane of the Earth's equator and the plane of the Earth's orbit around the Sun. For the Earth, it is approximately #23^@27'#. It varies slightly because of the force of gravity from the Moon and other planets in our solar system.
