Stars and Galaxies emit radiation in different wave lengths from Gama rays to Radio waves..Only visible light and Radio waves pass through Earths atmosphere to Earth's surface.
Explanation:
So to study nthe universe Astronomers send space based telescopes in Earth orbit or Sun"s orbit.They vary from Gama ray telescopes, X ray telescopes, Infra red, UV telescopes etc..The study of universe trough these different wave length is called multi wave astronomy.
