When a substances in the gaseous phase experiences a drop in temperature such that the particles move slower and closer together and it converts directly into the solid phase.

A good example of a chemical which readily undergoes sublimation and crystallization is carbon dioxide. (CO2).

Sublimation : CO2(s)→CO2(g).

Crystallization : CO2(g)→CO2(s)
