Explanation:
I have never come across this before so I did a quick search on the net. Amazing what you can find through Google and such.
I found an interesting one on: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ternary_plot
I should have realised that 'ternary' is a reference to 3. Thus it represents a diagrammatic representation of the outcome of 3 influences. The context of the 'sliding scale' scale of influence is indicated within the enclosed zone of the axis. I observe that there are some 3 space examples around. The mind boggles!
