- Free ribonucleotides floating around in the cell, line up against the exposed nucleotides on the DNA.
- RNA polymerase enzyme helps in transcription process.
- A single strand of nucleotides is made, which is RNA. This strand is more specifically the messenger RNA. Hence, it's called mRNA.
The process of transcription is just the making of this messenger RNA (mRNA) strand.
mRNA then goes from the nucleus to ribosomes in the cell where the next part of protein synthesis , translation happens.
