The circumference is given by 2pir.

C = 2pir

C = 2pi(8)

C = 16pi

Set up your proportion. Let C be the circumference of the larger circle.

(16pi)/C = 2/3

C = (16pi xx 3)/2

C = 24π" inches"

Solve for r:

C = 2pir

24π = 2pir

r = (24pi)/(2pi)

r = 12" inches"

Hopefully this helps!
