The location of the amygdala is deep within the temporal lobes of the Brain (the temporal lobes indicate that we're talking about the side of the Brain). We have 2 amygdalae, one for each side of the Brain.
The amygdala is also a part of the limbic system - the system within the Brain that deals with emotions and motivation.
