Is nitrogen more important than oxygen?

1 Answer

Both are important, but organisms require continous oxygen.

Explanation:

  1. Both nitrogen and oxygen is important for organisms for the mediation of different vital functions. But oxygen is directly utilised by the organisms, while instead of 78 per cent of nitrogen in atmosphere only some prokaryotes fix atnosperic nitrogen.
  2. Organisms require continuous oxygen compared to the nitrogen. Absence of nitrogen affect the proper growth of organisms after a gap of time, while absence of oxygen affects survival of organisms directly in short duration of time. Thank you
