Yes, consisting of mainly nitrogen, followed by oxygen and then miscellaneous gases.

As you can see, more than 3/4 of the atmosphere consists of nitrogen.

Air is more concentrated near the Earth's surface and "thins out" as the altitude increases, in which there is less oxygen.

Also take into account water vapour. Over large bodies of water, the water vapour concentration in the atmosphere is exponentially larger than let's say, a desert.
