Explanation:

The Ouchterlony test is used to test whether an antibody-antigen interaction occurs.

For this assay an agarose gel is used in which holes are punched. The antibody (Ab) and antigen (Ag) samples are put inside the holes. During incubation of the agarose plate, the antibodies and antigens diffuse through the gel. When an interaction occurs they will stick together (agglutinate) and precipitate in the gel. This is visible as a white line.
