Infra red ranges from the upper end of the wavelength of visible light up to 1400 times that.

Explanation:

The wavelength of visible light ranges from 400nm up to 700nm.

The wavelength of infra red ranges from 700nm (7×107m) all of the way up to 1mm (1×103m).

So the range of visible light is about one octave while that of infra red is over ten octaves.
