How does capacitance affect impedance?

Impedence (only in alternating current circuits) strictly depends on the resistance, inductive reactance (of inductive sources) and capacitative reactance (of capacitative sources).

Now, Capacitative reactance #X""_C = 1/(omegaC)#
Where omega is the angular frequency of the source and C is the capacitance.

Also, impedence, #Z = (R^2 + (X""_C + X""_L)^2 )^(1/2)#

Where #X""_L# is the inductive reactance. and #R# is the resistance.

Thus on increasing capacitance, the capacitative reactance decreases and thus the impedence also decreases.
