"Electronic configuration of potassium"-=[Ar]4s^1

Explanation:

For "potassium", Z=19....and so for the full electronic configuration we write...

1s^(2)2s^(2)2p^(6)3s^(2)3p^(6)4s^1

But we can abridge this slightly...

underbrace(1s^(2)2s^(2)2p^(6)3s^(2)3p^(6))_"configuration of argon, Z=18"4s^1

And finally we get......K:[Ar]4s^1....
