We can write this as #-2 < x <= 4#

Explanation:

The symbol ( in the interval #(-2,4]# means that #x# cannot take value #-2# and symbol ] means that #x# can take value #4#.

Hence, #(-2,4]# means though #x# can take all values between #-2# and #4#, while #x# can the value #4#, it cannot take the value #-2#.

Hence we can write this as #-2 < x <= 4#
