Writing your equation in the form
$2|-4x+2|=2(3x-4)$
so we have
$|-4x+2|=3x+4$
or

$|4x-2|=3x+4$
If we have $x>=1/2$
so we get
$4x-2=3x+4$
so $x=6$

In the case that $x<1/2$ we get

$-4x+2=3x+4$

we get

$7x=-2$

so $x=-2/7$
