Make them both have the same denominator.

Explanation:

So make them both have 6 on the bottom. Then change 2/3 into a denominator of 6 so

3 xx 2 = 6

2 xx 2 = 4

So it is now

2/3 = 4/6

Subtract 1/6 from 4/6 to basically get 4-1, which is 3, and keep the denominator the same. The answer is 3/6, which simplified is 1/2

4/6 - 1/6 = (4-1)/6 = 3/6 = 1/2

Hope you get it :)
