Make them both have the same denominator.

Explanation:

So make them both have #6# on the bottom. Then change #2/3# into a denominator of #6# so

#3 xx 2 = 6#

#2 xx 2 = 4#

So it is now

#2/3 = 4/6#

Subtract #1/6# from #4/6# to basically get #4-1#, which is #3#, and keep the denominator the same. The answer is #3/6#, which simplified is #1/2#

#4/6 - 1/6 = (4-1)/6 = 3/6 = 1/2#
