Explanation:

#ln# stands for natural logarithm i.e. to the base #e# a real number known as Euler's number or Napier's constant, which can be written as #e=Sigma_(n=0)^(n=oo)1/(n!)#

In fact Napier used this to define what is known as natural log i.e. to the base #e#. In this if a number #a=e^x# then #x=lna#.

Hence, as #e=e^1#, we have

#lne=1#
