You look for numbers that can be found both on the denominator, and on the numerator.

Your expression looks like this

$(2sqrt(2))/(8sqrt(2))$

RIght from the start, $sqrt(2)$ will cancel out because you have in both the numerator, and in the denominator.

The resulting fraction will be

$(2 * cancel(sqrt(2)))/(8 * cancel(sqrt(2))) = 2/8$

Now, you know that $8$ can be written as

$8 = 4 * 2$

which means that the fraction becomes

$cancel(2)/(cancel(2) * 4) = color(green)(1/4)$
