How do you simplify 1/2*2/3*3/4?

1 Answer

To multiply fractions , you multiply denominators and numerators separately.

(1/2)*(2/3) *(3/4)

(1*2*3) / (2*3*4) = 6 / 24

which on simplifying gives answer;

6/24 = 1/4

Another option is to complete of the cancellation of common factors before you begin the multiplication process.

These fractions have common factors of 2 and 3

(1*2*3) / (2*3*4)

After cancelling those 2's and 3's you are left with the following.

(1) / (4)

Now you no longer need to simplify the fraction. You have completed that simplification up front.
