4/2 = 2/1 20/6 = 10/3 so the two fractions are not equivalent.

Another way is to make the fractions equivalent by finding a common denominator. Multiply both sides by factors to reach a common denominator of 6.

(4 xx 3)/( 2 xx 3)= (20 xx 1)/( 6 xx 1) This gives

12/6 = 20/6 The two fractions are not equal so the fractions are not equivalent.
