How do you graph the inequality #y > x#?

Explanation:

#y>x# is a graph representing all values of #y# that are above the graph #y=x#

so we graph #y=x# like normal but use a dashed line because it is #y > x# not #y>=x# then we shade in all values <b>greater</b> then the line #y=x# or in other words all values above the line.

Quick tip: I like to think the #># symbol points up so it tells me to shade all values above the line and the #<# points down so I shade below the line.
