How do you graph the equation 3x=y?

Well, all you have to do is to plug two values for x and find the values of y then graph the line. It will surely pass through the origin.

Explanation:

Let's say we choose the values 1 and 2 for x. All we will have to do is to find the corresponding values of y.

So, 3x=y

For x=1=>3(1)=y=>y=3

For x=2=>3(2)=y=>y=6

You only need two points to graph a line and we already have them: (1,3) and (2,6)

Now, go ahead and draw your line using the two points.

The reason I'm saying that your line is going to pass through the origin is because if you put x=0, you will find y=0. That is the origin, which means the point (0,0)

You will see it when you are done plotting your points.
