Explanation:

Absolute value of a number is its value sans its sign, positive or negative i.e. for 17 or +17 (absence of any sign means it is positive), it is 17 and for -17 to it is 17.

Number 10 has no sign i.e. it is positive and hence, we can say that |10|=10.

Graphically, absolute value of a number can be described as distance of its location on real number line from origin i.e. point described as 0, irrespective of its direction, whether towards positive or negative side of origin.

As the distance of 10 from origin is 10, its absolute value |10|=10
