Call x^2 = X
y = 2(X^2 + 8X + 12) = 2(X - p)(xX- q).
Find p and q. Factor pairs of 12: (1, 12)(2, 6).
Then p = 2 and q = 6
y = 2(X + 2)(X + 6) = 2(x^2 + 2)(x^2 + 6)
