How do you factor 12x^2+13x-14?

You can find its roots and then turn them into factors.

Let's use Bhaskara to find the roots:

(-13+-(169-4(12)(-14)))/24
(-13+-29)/24
x_1=-7/4, which is the same as the factor (4x+7)=0
x_2=2/3, which is the same as the factor (3x-2)=0

Thus, factoring your quadratic, you'll get:

(4x+7)(3x-2)
