pretty easy, just read it properly
it says #2/5 -:3/4# , you can read it as #2/5# "divided by" #3/4#
now if you know basic maths you know that division is exact "reciprocal"(or inverse) of multiplication
#:.# #2/5# "divided by" #3/4# becomes #2/5# "multiplied by" #4/3#
or #2/5xx4/3 i.e 8/15#

mathematically,
#2/5 -:3/4=(2/5)/(3/4)=2/5*4/3=8/15#
