Both of fractions have $3 x + 5$ $3x+5$ as the denominator, so you are able to just add the numerators without having to touch the denominator:

$\frac{3 x - 7 + 4 x - 3}{3 x + 5}$ $(3x-7+4x-3)/(3x+5)$

Now you can combine like terms in the numerator:
