You carry out an experiment and record the results. You then can use these results to calculate the experimental probabilities.

If you roll a die 30 times and get

3 ones
3 twos
1 threes
10 fours
3 fives
6 sixes

The theoretical probability of rolling a number is 1/616 so you would say that you might expect 5 ones in 30 rolls. The experimental probability is

Ones 3/30=1/10330=110

Twos 3/30=1/10330=110

Threes 1/30130

Fours 10/30=1/31030=13

Fives 3/30=1/10330=110

Sixes 6/30=1/5630=15
