“Innate” factors may be considered as the “raw material” of individual possibilities. Environmental factors can be enablers or detractors of the innate factors.

Explanation:

This is the "Nurture vs. Nature" debate that has been studied through various methods. It has evolved into an understanding of the interactions between our innate characteristics – the raw material, if you like – and the environment in which we are placed – social, economic, geographical. All of them influence our development, and none can really be considered a deterministic constraint.

That means we can use innate factors to overcome environmental constraints and use environment conditions to enhance desirable innate factors.
