Find tan ((3pi)/4)

Ans: -1

Explanation:

You may find tan ((3pi)/4) by 2 ways.
1. By the Trig Table (of Special Arcs)
Trig Table gives --> tan ((3pi)/4) = -1
2. By the trig unit circle.
tan ((3pi)/4) = - tan (pi)/4
On the trig unit circle, the segment AT = tan ((pi)/4)
The triangle OAT is isosceles, tan (pi/4) = AT = OA = 1 . Therefor
tan ((3pi)/4) = - tan (pi/4) = - 1.
