Negative function - invert the signs. Inverse function - interchange the x and y variables.

Explanation:

The original function, f(x)=x2x+2, when introduced a negative, simply results in inverting all the signs.

As a result, you get: f(x)=x2x+2.

Please don't get confused with the inverse notation: f(x)1. Completely different than the negative function.

Hope this helps :)
