Whatever we see is past since light takes some time to reach us.

For example, if you look at the sun (not recommended) you are seeing it as it was about #8# minutes ago.

If you look at the Andromeda Galaxy then you are seeing it as it was about #2# million years ago.

The Hubble Telescope can see some objects so far away that it sees them as they were #13# billion years ago.
