Draw two parallel chords #a# and #b# of the given parabola.

Join their mid points so as to get the line #m#. Note that this line joining the mid points is parallel to axis of symmetry.

Now draw another line #n# perpendicular to #m# and cutting parabola in two point and find the midpoint of the segment intercepted by it.

Draw a line #A#, parallel to #m# through midpoint of the segment. This is the Axis of Symmetry of the parabola.
