A jar contains 30 mL of glycerin (whose mass is 37.8 g) and 60 mL of corn syrup (whose mass is 82.8 g). How do you calculate the density of each liquid? Which liquid is on top?

As far as I know, glycerine and corn syrup should form an homogeneous mixture.

Explanation:

Of course, if they were immiscible, the denser liquid should constitute the bottom layer, and clearly the corn syrup is the denser.

You use the formula #rho, "density"="Mass"/"Volume"#; I will leave this calculation to you.

But how do you know if the 2 liquids are immiscible? How else but by experiment? As a matter of fact, I don't even know what corn syrup is, whereas glycerol is #"1,2,3-propanetriol"#.
