Typically, when we perform a complexometric titration we use EDTA, "ethylene diaminetetra-acetic acid...."

Now this is a sexadentate chelating ligand, that is widely used in complexometric titration. Typically, when we perform these titrations, the solution is buffered to fairly high pH, and the ligand is delivered as its calcium salt......which pH gives a better chelating ability inasmuch as there are MORE carboxylate donors.
