1/v-1/u=1/f
Here , f is taken Positive for a Convex Lens
and is Negative for a Concave Lens

Explanation:

According to lens formula:-

1/v-1/u=1/f

Where:-

v is the image distance from the lens

u is the object distance from the lens

f is the Focal length of the lens

NOTE:-

  1. All the distances are measured from the Optical Center.

  2. Distance measured in the direction of incident light ray is taken as Positive and vice- versa .

u is taken as Negative

v is taken as Positive

f is taken as Positive
